Sweet Judah | Newborn Photography

As a Newborn Photographer I am so fortunate to be invited into the homes of my clients and be a part of the early days of parenthood. I remember the days after we brought our daughter home and let me tell you, we were not as put together as this little family was!

Not only am I passionate about capturing the moments in between moments, I am also passionate about supporting the family, in particular the mother, in the weeks and months after birth. Carrying and birthing a human is tough work! Then, when you bring them home, it is life altering, mind blowing and draining but for all the things that are hard their are the wins that should be recognized and celebrated, the middle of the night cuddles and all the sweet sounds and smells of a precious baby. We are so blessed as parents and the bond shared between mom and babe is unmatched. And you could feel the love for this little guy from the moment I walked in the door.

But, what struck me the most about them was their love for each other and their love for God. It permeated every aspect of their home through the way they spoke with each other, the wall art in the nursery to the worship music playing in his room while we took photographs. It was refreshing, heartwarming and so encouraging to know that this new itty human that they prayed for will be forever surrounded by the love of his parents and he will be rooted in the knowledge of his Father.

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future” – Jeremiah 29:11. Doesn’t that bring such comfort, knowing that there is a plan for us!? Nothing brings a parent more joy then the anticipation of a full and fulling life for their child.

It was such a pleasure to have met them and to photograph their sweet baby boy. And I so look forward to watching him grow.

Hi, I’m Twyla! As a parent myself, I remember trying desperately to remember every detail of our birth, thinking, this is it, it’s my turn – I’m having a baby! I wanted to soak up every moment. The entire experience was so amazing, so intense, so raw – I thought there was simply no way I could forget it. Truth is, I did. That first look, the first cry, the first touch there is nothing worth documenting more than these very moments. Allow yourself to be present, to be in the experience as it unfolds.
