How Do I Book With You?

I’m so glad you are interested in working with me!  Its super easy, just click Contact and send me a message I look forward to chatting with you.

What Happens Next?

I will do my best to get in contact with you within 24hrs of receiving an email.  First I like to have a quick phone conversation to determine if what I offer is what you are looking for and if the style of photography is what you are looking for. Should we choose to move forward I will process the retainer fee (50% of the session fee) and schedule you in. I will send over a Client Questionnaire which helps me get to know you better so I know I am serving you as best I can.

Is The Consult Necessary?

Yep! The Consult is the best way to ensure that our time together is successful, plus, who doesn’t love coffee!  If meeting at a local coffee shop doesn’t work for you I would be happy to meet you in your home.

Where Do We Have the Shoot?

Well, that depends!  It can be in your home or on location.  I have a few places I like to shoot but am totally open to suggestions, if the park down the street has personal significance then lets do it there!

How Long Do Sessions Last?

Depending on the session type you choose a session can be anywhere from 3hrs to 24hrs and Birth Session are as long as it takes.

What If Someone Becomes Sick Before Our Session?

It happens, as a mother myself I get it!  If your family is unable to proceed with our scheduled session I can certainly accommodate, if for whatever reason we need to reschedule a second time there will be a re-booking fee applied.

What About The Weather?

It is the PNW after all!  As always, the forecast can change day to day hour to hour.  I usually like to wait until the night before or morning of to make the final call.  If its going to be a complete wash out we will reschedule to another day but, I don’t mind shooting in overcast skies and a little drizzle so if we all agree we may move ahead regardless.  If we get to the location and are finding that it just isn’t working we can always reschedule – I’m game if you are!

What Happens If I Am Late To The Shoot?

I know its hard to be on time when you have little ones in tow, or if the Seattle traffic is at its ‘finest’.  I always like to arrive at least 20min early to do a final scout especially if there is a particular spot we are hoping to use.  Please plan to arrive a little early just to get everyone settled before we begin.  If you are going to be late, please send a quick text to let me know.  The day of your shoot I will keep in contact you so there should be no surprises and we can adjust our schedules accordingly.

I Can Be A Bit Reserved At First, Do I Have To Stand And Look At The Camera Right Away?

Nope, in fact I would love it if you didn’t!  I like to start sessions off by chatting, getting everyone comfortable and loosened up.  When kids are involved I like to engage them when they are ready but typically I make quick friends.  I will start shooting from far away – this allows you (and the kids) to get comfortable with the idea of someone pointing a camera at you and it also allows for moments to start happening naturally.  We then move into the closer up photos and then if there are kids involved, I take them to the side to have some individual photos done.

What If My Child(ren) Doesn’t Cooperate?

This happens, I totally understand.  I have always found that children more often then not have a harder time when there is a lot of pressure “Billy smile”, “Billy look at the camera”, “Billy, Billy, Billy…….”  I know its hard to not beg for a smile, you want the best family portrait possible, I absolutely get it! But, by removing the pressure we allow the child to be themselves.  This exactly what I am hoping for, capturing the essence of your child, all their quirks and silliness – those are the things you will beg for time to give you back, trust me!  But, everyone as off days and children are no exception.  If taking a break is what is needed then by all means, I would happy to step aside.  There is no reason to continually force a child to do something they don’t want to.

When Do We Get To See Our Photos?

By now you have invested a lot of energy and time into your session and you want to see how it all came together, I don’t blame you!  My post process session is as follows – Cull – selecting the very best images of our time together Edit – each of the photos that make the cut are hand edited. What Type Of Editing you ask? Great question! What I don’t do is body modification (making someone skinnier), excessive airbrushing (making you look like plastic) What editing I do preform would be color and exposure balancing and minor cosmetic touches.  I want these photos to reflect who you are but no one needs to remember the fly away hair or blemish, am I right!?  You will have access to your gallery approximately 3 weeks after your session.

How Will I View My Photos?

You will receive your digital gallery link which provides you full access to your images. Here you are able to select which images you would like to print from a professional photo lab as well as share and download your images in high-resolution.
